PURPOSE: An intake device is provided to uniformly distribute air from a surge tank to each intake manifold when an engine is operated at a high speed. CONSTITUTION: An air inducing unit(5) having an arc type reflection surface(4) is mounted on an upper edge of a wall(3), which is opposite to an air inlet(2) for introducing air from a throttle body into a surge tank(1). The air inducing unit(5) is biased towards the edge of the surge tank(1) by an elastic force of a return spring(6). A cylindrical slider rod(7) is protruded from a bottom of the arc type reflection surface(4). The cylindrical slider rod(7) is inserted into a guide pipe(9) which is sealed with a wax member(8). A water jacket(10) is formed around the wax member(8). Water used for cooling the engine is circulated into a radiator through the water jacket(10). A valve chamber(12) is provided in a cooling water passage(11) and a piston valve(14) is accommodated in the valve chamber(12). Oil pressure is applied to the piston valve(14) for elastically operating the piston valve(14).
