PURPOSE: A microwave range having a device for operating a rotary plate is provided to improve a quality of cooking by changing periodically a rotational speed of the rotary plate transferred from a driving shaft to a driven shaft to uniformly irradiate high frequency to foods. CONSTITUTION: A microwave range having a device for operating a rotary plate includes a body having a cooking chamber, a high frequency generator for generating high frequency and irradiating into the inside of the cooking chamber, a rotary plate(102) rotatably mounted on a lower surface of the cooking chamber, a driving source(112) for rotating the rotary plate, a driving shaft(114) rotated by the driving source, a driven shaft(116) connected to a bottom center of the rotary plate and rotating with the rotary plate, a driving gear row(121) having two or more driving gears and mounted on the driving shaft, and a driven gear row(125) having two or more driven gears and mounted on the driven shaft. The driving and driven gear rows have toothed part on the external circumference to be arranged in such a manner that they engage with each other.
