PURPOSE: A canister connection pipe for an exhaust gas purifying apparatus is provided to simply and selectively exchange a canister having a fault when the fault occurs one of two canisters by detachably connecting two canisters. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas purifying apparatus is connected to an exhaust pipe of an engine through connection pipes(7,12) to which first and second canisters(1,3) are connected. Porous ceramic filters(2,4) are installed in the canisters(1,3) for collecting particles contained in exhaust gas of the engine. A segment type electric heater is provided in the ceramic filters(2,4) for removing the particles. The first connection pipe(8) having a flange at one end thereof is connected to an inlet or an outlet of the first canister(1). The second connection pipe(9) having a flange at one end thereof is connected to an inlet or an outlet of the second canister(3). A packing is interposed between the first and second connection pipes(8,9). The flanges are coupled to each other by bolts and nuts. The packing includes a plate-shaped gasket. Inclined surfaces are formed at an inner edge section of each flange. An O-ring made of metal is interposed between the inclined surfaces.
