SHARED BUFFER TYPE OF ASYNCHRONOUS TRANSFER MODE EXCHANGE

PURPOSE: A shared buffer type of asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) exchange, is provided to update a read address register(RR) and a write address register(WR) in serial according to a pipeline system, thereby easily extending the exchange. CONSTITUTION: A circulating buffer(100) has a positive input/output buffer of which input/output parts store one cell according to ports, and performs data interface between a shared buffer memory(300) and a channel connected to the input/output buffer through an internal cell circulating buffer controller. An address controller(200) receives cell data generated in the circulating buffer(100) to store the cell data in the shared buffer memory(300), and accesses the data stored in the shared buffer memory(300) to supply the accessed data to the circulating buffer(100). And the address controller(200) performs a state change of an address according to a storage area of the shared buffer memory(300) through shifting operations.
