PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and precisely true up knife edges toward a new cutting line at the time of starting cutting or changing directions. SOLUTION: This cutting plotter is furnished with an elevating means to make a knife edge 29a contact with an upper part of a cutting medium 2 with weak pressure at an optional position of a circumference of a starting point of a cutting line of the cutting medium 2, a moving means to move a holder 24 toward the starting point and to change a direction of the knife edge 29a to the moving direction and a rotating means to rotate a cutter 29 when the knife edge 29a is positioned at the starting point and to true up the direction of the knife edge 29a with a direction of a cutting line.
