PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject sorting apparatus capable of sorting unhulled rice and unpolished rice from a mixture of them by a simple structure. SOLUTION: A sorting apparatus 10 is equipped with a belt conveyor 16 feeding supplied mixed rice K. The belt conveyor 16 is formed from material quality to which the unhulled rice M in the mixed rice K adheres and provided so as to be inclined upwardly on the upstream side in the feed direction thereof. Only the unpolished rice G in the mixed rice K fed by the belt conveyor 16 slips down so as to follow the inclination of the conveyor and the unhulled rice M is moved while bonded to the belt conveyor 16 to be separated from the belt conveyor 16 by a scraper 30.
