PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to increase a charged particle density inside a discharge space corresponding to a pixel by increasing the number of electrons generated during the initial discharge, so as to lower a discharge voltage for an initial drive of a plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: A principle of an electron gun is applied to a three-electrode discharge structure and a cathode(10) and a plurality of control electrodes(20) is added to the three-electrode discharge structure. The cathode(10) generates electrons of high density through a mutual discharge. The plurality of control electrodes(20) participate in an initial address discharge between a scan electrode(S) and an address electrode(A), and a sustain discharge between a scan electrode(S) and a common electrode(C). The control electrodes(20) transfer electrons to a discharge space. The transferred electrons added to electrons generated due to the discharge among the discharge electrodes(C,S,A) increase the electrons density. Therefore, an increasement of electrons density lowers a discharge voltage of a plasma display panel. |
