PURPOSE: A back light of a portable telephone is provided to form a slide cover and a flip cover as one body on the portable telephone, so as to change the back light of a liquid crystal display(LCD) according to a state of the flip cover or the slide cover being open. CONSTITUTION: A duplexer(32) inputs/outputs a transceiving audio signal, a control signal and a data signal through an antenna(ANT)(5). If the audio signal is received, a reception amplifier(33) compensates a gain of the audio signal to amplify the gain-compensated audio signal. A detector(34) demodulates the audio signal as detecting the amplified audio signal, and outputs the demodulated audio signal. An audio signal output circuit(36) receives the detected audio signal through a baseband(35), outputs the audio signal to a speaker(2), and to listen to a voice. If the audio signal is inputted through a microphone(6), an audio signal input circuit(37) transmits the audio signal to the baseband(35). A modulator(38) modulates the audio signal with a transmission frequency signal, and outputs the modulated audio signal. An amplifier(39) amplifies the modulated audio signal with a transmission signal to transmit the amplified audio signal to the duplexer(32), and outputs the audio signal through the antenna(5). A mixer(40) mixes the control signal with an intermediate frequency(IF) signal of a local oscillator(41) to output the mixed signal. A decoder(42) shapes a waveform of the high frequency control signal into a digital form. A decider(43) compares the control signal with a self inherent address, to decide whether the signal is transmitted thereto, and outputs a comparison signal. A micro processor(44) controls internal operations according to the comparison signal and a user selection. A memory(45) stores information on signal processors and outputs the information. A back light driver(46) selectively lights a red lamp(L1) or a blue lamp(L2). A display driver(47) selectively displays operations of a portable telephone or pressed numbers.
