PURPOSE: An elastic support for the earthquake resistance and the prevention of unseating failure of bridge span is provided to prevent the unseating failure, and reduce the cost, and make the structure simply, and bear a slab to fall by large bearing capacity. CONSTITUTION: An elastic support comprises; an upper plate(31) which is fastened with an anchor bolt projected from a slab of a bridge; a lower plate(32) which is fastened with the anchor bolt installed in a pier; and a pad(33) of hard-rubber material which is installed in between the upper and lower plates(31,32). Numerous hollowed iron cores(34) are installed in the inside of the pad(33), and the upper, lower plates(31,32) are connected with a chain(35) through the iron cores(34). In case of need, the upper, lower plates(31,32) are connected with springs or numerous wires. The nuts are installed in the each upper and lower plate(31,32). The length of spring or wire or chain is shorter than the distance from the slab to the end of the pier.
