PURPOSE: A car audio system is provided for users to listen to CD level quality music without sound quality deterioration due to vibration or scratch and to remove/store MP3 music file by using IC card in which users can store/remove MP3 files. CONSTITUTION: The car audio system includes an IC card(3), an IC card reader part(10), a display, a central controlling part(30), a D/A converting part(40) and an audio outputting part(50). The IC card(3) has a semiconductor memory in which users can store/remove data of MP3 file form. The IC card reader part(10) inputs/outputs the IC card(3) and reads data of MP3 file form stored in the semiconductor memory of the IC card(3). The display displays letter and graphic. The central controlling part(30) executes one mode selected from radio, audio tape, TV and MP3 according to order of users and displays the selected mode and state of action on the display. If the system is on MP3 mode, the central controlling part(30) decompresses compressed data which are read from the IC card reader part(10) and converts them to digital audio signals of bit stream form and outputs them. The D/A converting part(40) converts the digital audio signals output from the central controlling part(30) to analog audio signals and outputs them. The audio outputting part(50) outputs a mode, which is selected and executed in the central controlling part(30), and audio signals output through the D/A controlling part(40).
