发明名称 METHOD FOR DRIVING PDP HAVING ENHANCED ENERGY RECOVERY EFFICIENCY
摘要 PURPOSE: A method for driving a PDP(Plasma Display Panel) having enhanced energy recovery efficiency is provided to decrease terminal numbers connected to common electrodes by minimizing current flowing through the common electrodes without inputting voltage thereto and to tile a PDP by reducing the no-emitting area of a panel to the maximum. CONSTITUTION: Current flowing through each line takes a reverse direction during continuing to discharge a PDP and each electric field is offset to inhibit unnecessary formation of electric fields on a panel. During discharging of the PDP, discharge holding pulses are fed and capacitance is reduced to a half to enhance energy recovery efficiency. Plural connecting terminals have common electrodes(12a) and scanning electrodes(12b) connected with external circuits. The connecting terminals form exposed areas simply on a one edge of a front glass substrate(11) but not at both edges thereof. EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) caused by continuous discharging is inhibited as electric fields between adjacent electrodes are offset. At the same time, terminal numbers connected to common electrodes are reduced when current flowing through the common electrodes is minimized without inputting voltage thereto.
