PURPOSE: A method for transmitting messages by monitoring lines in a transmitting system is provided to be capable of receiving data according to data lines of a controller in order to monitor whether or not all messages are normally transmitted. Therefore, it is accurately and safely performed to transmit network management messages. CONSTITUTION: A controller checks optical data received from a left side receiver and a right side receiver, and controls each unit state(300). The controller checks the received optical data, and checks whether errors of optical lines are generated(302). If so, the controller checks whether a data processor communicates with a current channel(304). If the data processor communicates with an error line, the controller notifies the data processor of an error line state(306). If the data processor does not communicate with the error line, the controller disables the error line(308). If errors of optical lines are not generated, the controller checks whether an optical receiver line normally receiving data is a disabled line(310). If so, the controller enables the disabled line, and simultaneously notifies the data processor of information on the enabled line(312).
