DEVICE AND METHOD FOR IMAGE DISPLAY WITH SHORTENED KEY FUNCTION

PURPOSE: A device and a method for image display with a shortend key function are provided so that users can control functions of image displaying device easily and conveniently by setting up functions from OSD menu which are essential and used frequently as shortened key information. CONSTITUTION: A device for image display with a shortened key function includes a key inputting part(10), a memory(20), a controller(30), an OSD part(40) and an image processing part(50). The key inputting part(10) includes a shortened key which have information corresponding to OSD menu selected by users. The memory(20) has information corresponding to OSD menu. The controller(30) outputs OSD display signal for displaying OSD menu when OSD key signal is inputted from the key inputting part(10). The controller(30) determines whether information of current selected a shortened key are identical to shortened key information stored as command code in the memory(20) when a shortened key signal is inputted on OSD menu. If information of current selected a shortened key are identical to shortened key information stored as command code in the memory(20), the controller(30) reads command code corresponding to shortened key information and executes OSD menu. If information of current selected a shortened key are not identical to shortened key information stored as command code in the memory(20), the controller(30) resets up current selected OSD menu as a shortened key and stores information corresponding to it in the memory(20). The OSD part(40) outputs OSD signals by responding to OSD display signals inputted from the controller(30). The image processing part(50) synthesizes OSD signals inputted from the OSD part(40) with image signals by controlling signals of the controller(30) and outputs them.
