METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SENSING WEAR OF FINAL DIE IN WET WIRE DRAW BENCH

PURPOSE: A method and a device for sensing wear of a final die in a wet wire draw bench are provided to detect slip amount from a drawing cone and to stop a machine when the slip amount is far deviated from a reference amount. CONSTITUTION: Many pairs of drawing cones(2) and assistant cones(3) are installed in a wet wire draw bench(1) filled with a wet lubricant and a die(4) is installed between the drawing cones and the assistant cones. A final die(5) is installed in one side of the drawing cones. A drawing capstan(6) and a winder(7) are installed outside of the wet wire draw bench. A wire speed measuring roller(8) is placed between the drawing cone and the final die. Thus, the wet wire draw bench detects a slip amount and compares the amount with a reference amount to protect a machine.
