PURPOSE: A method for producing an optical wavelength divider to improve crosstalk and the optical wavelength divider thereof are provided to have minimum crosstalk through applying pitch/linear dispersion scalings. CONSTITUTION: Linear dispersion value of an optical wavelength divider is maintained while varying pitch of a waveguide grate. Focus distance of the second star coupler is varied according to pitch of the grate. Thus, the wavelength dispersion from the grate is mapped on a focus plane. A sidelobe of an interfering pattern from the star coupler is measured. The pitch and the focus distance are decided for the sidelobe to have minimum value. In case of a pitch scaling, distance between output waveguides is maintained by maintaining wavelength distance.
