PURPOSE: A refrigerator and method of managing stored stuff is provided to achieve an improved user convenience by allowing the user to easily recognize the information related to the stored food stuff. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a display unit(41) installed at the front surface of the refrigerator door, a selection unit(42) for operation of the display unit, a bar-code reader(5) for inputting information of the food stuff stored in a refrigerating compartment of the refrigerator, a memory unit(8) for storing information interpreted from bar-code, a telephone connection unit(6) with a modem, and a control unit(7) for storing the food stuff information input from the bar-code reader into the memory unit, displaying the information stored in the memory onto the display unit in accordance with the selection of the selection unit, and providing the information required for managing the stored stuff to an external computer through the telephone connection unit when the information stored in the memory unit satisfies a predetermined condition.
