BARRIER RIB OF PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A barrier rib of a plasma display panel and a method of forming the same are provided to increase the luminance even in a structure that a size of an aperture is fixed. CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent substance coated on an opaque layer(21A) reflects an emitted visible light(R2). A fluorescent substance coated on a transparent layer(21B) reflects the emitted visible light(R2) and makes an emitted visible light(R3) transmit therethrough. The transparent layer(21B) intercepts or absorbs an ultraviolet ray(R1). Accordingly. the transparent layer(21B) don't exceed 30 percents of a height of a barrier rib so as to prevent colors from being mixed among adjacent cells. A method of forming the barrier rib comprises the following steps. The first step is to form the opaque layer(21A) and the transparent layer(21B) on a substrate(20). The next step is to coat a dry film resist(DFR) of a sand blast. The next step is to form a DFR mask after exposing the DFR by the use of an exposing mask. The last step is to form a barrier rib pattern by selectively removing the transparent layer(21B) and the opaque layer(21A).
