PURPOSE: Provided is a sealing member of silicon carbide having double materials, which has lubricancy and durability simultaneously. Also, its preparation method is provided. CONSTITUTION: The sealing member is composed of a basic material consisting of silicon carbide mainly and a contacting material consisting of a graphite particle and silicon carbide mainly. It is prepared by the steps of: (a) mixing powdered graphite into a size of 100-500 micro meter with silicon carbide in a weight ratio of 100 to 10-40; (b) mixing an organic binder thereof in a weight ratio of 100 to 0.5-10 and filling it into a cast having a shape of sealing member to 10-30%; (c) filling the rest of the cast with the basic material consisting of silicon carbide mainly; (d) pressure-molding it with pressure of 300-1000kg/m¬3 and drying it; (e) inserting it into a vacuum sintering furnace and heating it at 1600-1750 deg.C at 10-60 minutes so as to sinter it in one body.
