PURPOSE: A back light unit is provided to reduce a thickness of a light guide panel while keeping the luminance, and to eliminate the use of a diffusion panel while uniformly distributing a light. CONSTITUTION: A back light unit consists of a light guide panel(2), a lamp(1), a lamp reflector(3), a reflection panel(4), and a prism. A reflection pattern(21) for uniformly reflecting a light is formed in a base plane of a light guide panel(2) closely. The lamp is located at the side portion of the light guide panel, and is surrounded with the lamp reflector. The reflection panel is disposed under the light guide panel. Due to the reflection pattern, the reflexibility is improved, thereby reducing a thickness of the light guide panel. Also, since the reflection pattern formed on the base plane of the light guide panel uniformly reflects the light, a diffusion panel is not required. Therefore, only an upper panel(7) and a lower panel(6) of a prism is disposed on the top of the light guide panel successively. |
