PURPOSE: A method for and device used for preventing freeze-burst of an erect water pipe and a hot water pipe of a gas boiler is provided to prevent freeze-burst by heating an erect freeze-burst and a hot water pipe by mounting a thermister and a heater. CONSTITUTION: A device used for preventing freeze-burst of an erect water pipe and a hot water pipe of a gas boiler includes heat exchangers, a three-directional valve, a flower sensor, a water tank, a pump, a temperature sensor, a heater and a thermister. The temperature sensor is mounted to wrap pipes at a side of internal erect water pipes and hot water pipes of the boiler and mounted on the erect water pipe and the hot water pipe by fixing means at both sides of a longitudinal direction and has an insulation member to prevent the direct contact with the erect water pipe and the hot water pipe and a heat sink to prevent heat from being emitted. The thermister is mounted on a lower portion of the internal erect water pipe of the boiler for detecting temperature of water within the erect water pipe.
