The cooking device has a vessel (1) with a heat-conducting base (4) and heat-insulated side walls (5) comprising outer (6) and inner (8) walls with an intermediate space (7). The outer wall is connected on the inside with a layer (6b) of aluminium or other similar good heat-conductive material, which on heating conducts away the heat created in the vicinity of the base, in order to avoid overheating. The outer wall has a ferro-magnetic layer of e.g. chrome steel (6a). The inner wall is produced from stainless steel, particularly chrome nickel steel.
