PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten the operation burden on an operator in the total discharging process of the combination metering device. SOLUTION: This metering device is equipped with metering hoppers 14, a combination arithmetic part 51a, and a combination metering control part 51. Each metering hopper 114 meters articles. The combination arithmetic part 51a performs combination operation based upon the weight of articles supplied to the respective metering hoppers 114 and selects a metering hopper 114 so that the total weight of the articles is within a permissible range. The combination metering control part 51 discharges articles from the selected metering hopper 114 when the combination operation of the combination operation part 51a is effected. If the combination is not effected and a metering hopper 114 can not be selected even after supply operation to the metering hoppers 114 is repeated as many times as specified, the total discharging process for forcibly discharging articles in all the metering hoppers 114 is automatically performed.
