PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray image tube device capable of capturing a clear output image with a simple structure. SOLUTION: This X-ray image tube device 10 comprises an input surface electrode 12 having a photoelectric surface 12a, a focus electrode 14, an output phosphor screen electrode 16 having a phosphor screen 16b, and a power source 18 for supplying a predetermined potential for them. The power source 18 can selectively supply 0 V as a focus potential and -1 kV as a cutoff potential for the focus electrode 14 and also supply -400 V for the input surface electrode 12 and +20 kV for the output phosphor screen electrode 16. The three electrodes are enveloped in an inner side housing 20 and an outer side housing 22 and the opening of the outer side housing 22 passes an X-ray therethrough and is blocked with a protecting plate 26 composed of an electrical insulating material.
