PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a drop-out at the time of reproducing and to improve operability and reliability by providing a cartridge with a plurality of mounting means for housing disks into a disk device, thereby simplifying the mounting operation of a small disk and decreasing the possibilities of touching the recording surface of the small disk with hands. SOLUTION: A small disk cartridge 10 and a large disk cartridge 20 respectively house a small disk 1 and a small disk 2. The small and large disk cartridges 10 and 20 are respectively provided with shutters 11 and 21 of the same dimensions and their external dimensions are specified to D1=D2, W1=W2 and T1=T2. When the shutter 11 is moved from a solid line position to a dotted line position, the small disk cartridge 10 allows the insertion of the small disk 1A in the direction of an arrow A and this mounting means is defined as a first mounting means. In the meantime, if the small disk 1B is turned the direction of in an arrow B after the small disk is mounted at an arm 12, the small disk 1B may be mounted at a prescribed position and this mounting form is defined as a second mounting means.
