PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce externally applied vibration or impacts by turning the device body composed of a chassis having components attached, around a position shifted from the center of gravity of the device body. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a chassis 1 made of a flat plate, the device body A1 composed of a spindle motor 8 and a head carriage 5 attached to the chassis 1, a lower cover 9 attached to cover the chassis 1, and holding means (two holding parts composed of tapered parts, base seat parts and holes) for the chassis 1 and the lower cover 9. The holding means is placed orthogonal to a line X-X passing through the gravity center of the main body in the moving direction of the head carriage, and provided on a supporting line X-Y shifted from the gravity center of the device body A1, and the main body A1 is made rotatable around the supporting line Y-Y with respect to the lower cover 9.
