PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize dustproofness for a fixed magnetic disk type storage device in a medium commutative type storage device and also to obtain a small sized and highly reliable library device which is suitable for recording/reproducing and storing massive video information. SOLUTION: This library device 50 is formed into a tight closure structure by providing at least an optical disk 2, a spindle motor 3, an optical head assembly 5 and a seeking mechanism 8 in the inside of a cartridge 1 and is formed into the structure in which dustproofness for the cartridge is improved by providing a cartridge housing box 30, an optical assembly 60, an optical assembly driving mechanism and a cartridge locking mechanism or the like in the inside of a library device. Notwithstanding, a low cost is realized, further a loading/ unloading mechanism for the optical disk or optical disk cartridge is excluded and many cartridge are housed in the inside of a limited space.
