摘要 PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided which performs full discharge without using a separate doubling circuit in a reset section that is an initialization procedure to simplify the configuration of a circuit for driving the plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: In a method for driving a 3-electrode plasma display panel with surface discharge which divides one frame into multiple sub-fields to drive them in order to display images on the plasma display panel and splits each sub-field into a reset section, an address section and a sustain section for driving, positive voltage is applied to a sustain electrode and negative voltage is applied to a scanning electrode to make full discharge voltage. Simultaneously, bias voltage for preventing wall charges from generating in a data electrode is supplied to the scanning electrode. By doing so, the full discharge of the entire cells occurs in the reset section to initialize the plasma display panel.
