PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate inclination in a subscanning direction caused in a light beam in a main scanning direction on an image forming surface in the case of forming an image by main scanning and subscanning. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with main scanning means (304, 306 and 312) scanning a photoreceptor in the main scanning direction with the light beam from a semiconductor laser 301, and a subscanning means moving the light beam with which scanning is performed by the main scanning means on a photoreceptor surface in a direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction. The main scanning means gives a specified correction angle to the light beam in the main scanning direction so as to negate the inclination in the subscanning direction caused in the light beam in the main scanning direction on the image forming surface.
