PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube preventing neck cracks or implosion by eliminating scratches caused by a valve spacer when sealing an electron gun. SOLUTION: In this cathode-ray tube wherein an electron gun 8 is sealed in a neck 6 of a glass envelope and a bulb spacer 13 composed of a resilient body pressed against the inner surface of a funnel is attached on an electrode G4 positioned on the panel side among a plurality of electrodes G1-G4 disposed in the electron gun 8 from the end side of the neck 6 in the panel direction, an oxide film is formed at least on the surface of a pressed part of the bulb spacer 13 against the funnel inner surface.
