PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve adhesion property between a hardened material and a substrate. SOLUTION: The device comprises a top substrate 1A, top electrode 2A, top adhesion layer 3A, liquid crystal/hardened material composite material 6, back adhesive layer 3B, back electrode 2B and back substrate 1B. The device is produced by holding a composition containing a liquid crystal and a hardening compound between substrates, disposing a layer containing a compound which can react with the hardening compound on the inner face side of the substrate to be in contact with the composition, and hardening the hardening compound at a temperature where the composition shows a liquid crystal phase. |
