摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the probability of short circuits between electrodes which constitute auxiliary capacitance elements and to improve the production yield of a liquid crystal display unit by determining the capacitance and properly distributing according to the capacitance of the auxiliary capacitor element required for each pixel. SOLUTION: Auxiliary capacitor elements 32 are formed by overlapping capacitance lines CS (CS1 to CSn) through a dielectric material on pixel electrodes 13 arranged in a matrix. The electrode areas of auxiliary capacitance elements 32 at least on both ends in a row of the auxiliary capacitance elements 32 are changed to produce different capacitance so as to decrease the probability of short circuits between electrodes due to defects in the dielectric insulating film and to improve the yield.</p>
