PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform a user of copyright information set to contents data communicated through an IEEE1394 bus. SOLUTION: In a step S54, a specific register built in the link layer part of an IEEE1394 interface is referred to and then it is decided from the copyright management information whether or not contents data are allowed to be copied; when it is decided that the copying is not allowed, an advance to a step S55 is made. In the step S55, a specific register built in the digital receiver of the IEEE1394 interface is referred to and it is decided from SCMC information whether or not the contents data are allowed to be copied; when it is decided that the data are not allowed to be copied, an advance to a step S56 is made. In the step S56, 'Can't Copy' is displayed at a display part to inform the user that the contents data being received are not allowed to be copied. |
