PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remotely monitor a node by keeping an address mapping table including a node unique identifier and node attribute information in a network, receiving an input data packet, applying syntax analysis to the packet, mapping input data to a prescribed node, transmitting the data and generating a packet including acknowledgement from the prescribed node. SOLUTION: A home gateway 504 acts like a bridge/router between an external network 904 and an internal network 912. Thus, a home gateway 504 provides an intermediate layer that is used for protocol and data format conversion and address mapping function and placed between the external network 904 and the internal network 912. The home gateway 504 is especially a management node to keep an address mapping table desirably and the home gateway 504 stores node address information in a memory and updates the information.
