PURPOSE: A hydrostatic bearing apparatus having H-type pocket is provided to achieve improved stiffness by reducing the bearing gap, while reducing consumption of fluid. CONSTITUTION: A hydrostatic bearing apparatus(200) comprises a fixed member for guiding the linear or rotating motion of a conveying member; a bearing surface formed by being extended from the face of the fixed member opposed to the conveying member, in a first direction(300) which is a linear or rotating direction of the conveying member; and a pocket(240) having first and second recesses(242,246) formed at the bearing surface in a second direction(400) perpendicular to the first direction, and a third recess(244) communicated to first and second recesses in the first direction.
