PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent short-circuit between contact pieces on the way of inserting a plug and prevent malfunction or the like caused by overcurrent in a device and equipment connected with a jack device. SOLUTION: This jack device for inserting and connecting a single head plug P having a plurality of plug poles along an insertion direction includes a contact piece 10 for contacting with a first plug pole (a chip Pc) arranged on a tip of the plug P, and a contact piece 9 for contacting with a second plug pole (a sleeve Ps) arranged adjacent to the first plug pole. A distance D between plug contact parts 10p and 9p of the contact pieces 10 and 9 is made approximately the same as or longer than a length L of the first plug pole (the chip Pc) so that a distance between the two contact pieces 10 and 9 along a plug insertion direction is sufficiently large. With this structure, when the first plug pole (the chip Pc) contacts with the contact piece 10 on an inner side, the contact piece 9 on an entrance side contacts with the second plug pole (the sleeve Ps).
