<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipeline scheduler that offers ease of mounting and control and that can make impartial scheduling among incoming lines of a crossbar high-speed switch fabric. SOLUTION: The round robin system where a time base is assembled into frames and a priority matrix is used to reserve a future time slot can obtain a regular circulation sequence of time slots independently of whether the number of schedule modules is an even number or an odd number. Furthermore, the carry-over round robin pipeline scheduler(CORPS) realizes the scalability over many ports. Moreover, the CORPS schedules packets of future slots to decide on schedule by each line and by each slot. Since the selection of a scheduled queue is optional, this method is suitable to support service quality of traffic. The CORPS impartially resolves contention among output ports.</p> |
