PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record measurement data by using serial communication data as a trigger by recording measurement data in a memory when a start signal is outputted from a trigger detection circuit. SOLUTION: An analysis circuit 22 transforms serial communication data into parallel data according to a previously set protocol. A sampling timing generator 29 generates a timing signal at a fixed interval. Upon receipt of the signal, an A/D converter 21 carries out sampling. A trigger detection circuit 23 synchronizes with the timing signal for performing trigger detection. In this process, if a value of the communication data is the same as the previously set value, the trigger detection circuit 23 sends a start signal to a memory control circuit 24, and the A/D data and the communication data are taken into a memory 25. After intake of the data into the memory 25 is finished, a CPU 26 takes out the data from the memory-25 and processes them into waveform data for indicating them in a display unit 27.
