PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish zero voltage switching over a wider range of the operation of a converter by automatically adapting the length of a dead time phase between two continuous on phases and turns off a switching element. SOLUTION: A control unit 4 measuring and controlling voltages US1 and US2, by switching elements S1 and S2 controls the switching elements S1 and S2. The control unit 4 has a self-control circuit with respect to the respective switching elements and a first control circuit 10 controls the switching element S2, and a second control circuit 10' controll the switching elements S2. The control circuit 4 is realized as a single IC with the control circuits 10 and 107. The control unit 4 and the control circuits 10 and 10' automatically adapt the length of a dead time phase. Thus, zero voltage switching can be established in the wider range of the operation of a converter.
