PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a revolving-field rotating machine, which can increase the mechanical strength of its rotor using permanent magnets and the magnetic permeability in the section between the rotor and a stator. SOLUTION: A revolving-field type rotating machine is constituted in such a way that permanent magnets 27 are respectively put in a plurality of recessed sections 6 formed on the peripheral surface of a field core 23, and magnetic members 28 made of a magnetic material, having flange sections 28a forming in the radially inward direction are brought into contact with the external surfaces of the magnets 27 in the radially outward direction. Then holding fixtures 29 made of a nonmagnetic material are arranged between the permanent magnets 27 and the magnetic pole members 28, which are in contact with the magnets 27 and the magnets 27 adjacent to the magnets 27 and the magnetic pole members 28, which are in contact with the adjacent magnets 27 by engaging notches formed on the insides of the fixtures 29 in the diametral direction with the flange sections 28, and the fixtures 29 are fixed to the field core 23 by means of fixing means.
