PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a controller for a head mounted video display device capable of efficiently guiding illumination light radiated from a light emitting means to a button member. SOLUTION: The controller for the head mounted video display device is provided with a transparent power supply button part 15 forming an operation shape part 15e whose external surface exposed from an upper sheathing member 5 is a light diffusion surface on the tip side and forming an inclined surface part 15c on an intermediate position whose base side is fixed by a screw 21, an LED 24 arranged on electric circuit substrates 25, 35 in order to radiate light for illuminating the member 15, and a switching member 23 arranged on the substrate 25 and allowed to be switched by a switch depressing projection part 15f formed on the member 15. The controller is constituted so that, even when the LED 24 is arranged on any side A or B, at least one of irradiating illumination light is reflected by the inclined surface part 15c and effectively guided to the operation shape part 15e.
