PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the noise which is generated in an adjacent phone diode at the reset of a photo diode in an image sensor. SOLUTION: The reset period of reset control signals SR1 to ST4 which reset photo diodes is set to, for example, a 4-clock period 4Tc longer than a one-clock period Tc to simultaneously reset plural consecutive photo diodes. Each reset switch element is turned off after the next reset switch element is turned on; and therefore, even if the next reset switch element is turned on to allow a relatively large reset current to flow, the noise does not occur in an adjacent photoelectric transducer because the reset switch element of the adjacent photoelectric transducer continues to turn on.
