BATTERY STORAGE STRUCTURE FOR POWER SUPPLY OF MOTOR- ASSISTED BICYCLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide storage structure for a battery to be mounted on a motor- assisted bicycle using a motor as assisting the human power running. SOLUTION: A battery case 25 is installed on the frame (3) of a motor- assisted bicycle in such a way as extending in the frame longitudinal direction, and one group of columnar batteries 28 are instilled in a single row perpendicularly to the center line in the condition that the peripheral surfaces of a plurality of columnar batteries 28 (28a and 28b) contact with one another while another group of columnar batteries 28 are installed in recesses between the battery rows in the condition that they 28 are dropped so that a total bunch of batteries 29 is formed approximately in a thin and long prism in the direction perpendicular to the columnar batteries 28. In the condition that the center line of the columnar batteries 28 of this prism-shaped battery bunch 29 are oriented in the direction across the vehicle width, the battery bunch 29 is fitted in the battery case 25.
