PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-functional terminal which avoids overflow of a memory even in the case of facsimile reception in the multiple set output mode. SOLUTION: This terminal is provided with a means which performs output processing of facsimile reception information after storing it in the memory and a means which receives information from a network into the memory and outputs the number of sets of information which is designated by an external device on the network. An upper limit value register circuit 24 sets an upper limit value to the number of sets of information which is designated by a personal computer on the network. This upper limit value is set to a larger value according as the remaining storage capacity of the memory is larger.
