<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the auxiliary capacitance per unit area and to increase the opening rate in a liquid crystal display panel having pixel electrodes formed on an overcoat film which covers thin film transistors. SOLUTION: The pixel electrodes 15 are formed on an overcoat film 14. In this device, since an opening 17 is formed in the overcoat film 14 in the center region of an auxiliary capacitance electrode 4 except for the peripheral part, the pixel electrode 15 is formed on a gate insulating film 6. Thereby, the auxiliary capacitance per unit area in the opening 17 of the overcoat film 14 can be increased. As a result, even when the overlapped area of the auxiliary capacitance electrode 4 and the pixel electrode 15 is decreased to a certain degree, the required auxiliary capacitance can be kept and the opening rate can be increased.</p> |
