PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document control system having minimized data capacity of documents and improved processing speed. SOLUTION: One or plural document data becoming objects of data transfer are selected (S1). When any font data related to a copyright are exist in the selected document data, a user of a client decides (selects) the handling of the document data becoming the objects (S10). Whether or not the font substitutes are necessary for one or plural checked document data is checked, and when the font substitutes are necessary, the substitute processing from the font data related to the copyright to the font data not related to the copyright (copyright free) is performed.
