NETWORK STATUS SERVER, INFORMATION DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM, AND ITS CONTROL METHOD AND STORAGE MEDIUM STORING ITS CONTROL PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize access loads in web server sites placed distributingly by acquiring a logical distance between each site having information distribution servers distributingly placed and a client making an access and deciding an optimum site among the sites each having the information distribution servers distributingly placed. SOLUTION: A web server receives a corresponding IP address by inquiring of a nearby domain name server in its own site work. A client accesses a desired web site A by using this IP address. A web server 7 receiving an access uses an agent 9 to inquire of an NS server 11 about whether or not its own web server 7 is an optimum server to the client making the access. The NS server 11 inquires of a root server 10 about a network-distance from each of the web server sites placed distributingly to a client site 1 making the access.
