PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming device capable of correcting positional deviation of an AC element accurately and realizing an image of high print quality at a low price. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a pattern detection means 14 for detecting a regist pattern on a transfer means, and a positional deviation correction means 15 for correcting positional deviation on the basis of a result detected by the pattern detection means 14. Each of image forming stations is set in a position corresponding to an N multiple of the cycle of a driving roller and, further, the pattern detection means 14 is set in a position corresponding to an N multiple of the cycle of the driving roller from the furthest downstream position in the direction of the movement of an intermediate transfer belt.
