PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamability estimation method for a material in a tower and tank capable of accurately estimating foamability of the material that is a treated substance by a simple method in advance of distillation or gas-liquid separation of the material comprising a large number of components. SOLUTION: In this foamability estimation method for a material in a tower and tank, a sample formed by removing a low boiling point distillate corresponding to an amount evaporating in the case of supply of the material to a distillation tower or gas-liquid separation tank is specially prepared in advance of distillation or gas-liquid separation of the material comprising a large number of components, and foamability of the sample is tested.
