PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce operation load for setting parameters for dubbing speech and subtitles for respective contents. SOLUTION: This device reads prescribed disk information, for example, BCA data, a total reproducing time, etc., from a loaded disk, and inputs them to a CPU 1. The device retrieves an individual setting area 3b, and judges whether or not the parameters are registered, by making them correspond to the read-out disk information, and in the case that the parameters are registered, the parameters registered corresponding to the disk information are read from the individual setting area 3b, and set into an audio decoder 12 and a sub-picture decoder 13, to complete the process, namely, the device is put into a standby state for reproducing. When the device judges that the parameters are not registered, it reads standard parameters from a standard setting area 3a, and sets them into the audio decoder 12 and the sub-picture decoder 13.
