PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the abnormality detecting method which can decide abnormality of a flow velocity sensor by using a pressure sensor and the computerized gas meter which has the pressure sensor and flow velocity sensor. SOLUTION: By this abnormality detecting method, abnormality of the flow velocity sensor is detected from variation with of the output Vn of the flow velocity sensor 20 of the gas meter 15, equipped with the flow velocity sensor 20 and pressure sensor 21, in an arbitrary sampling period T wherein the output Pn of the pressure sensor 21 shows constant pressure while gas is in use.
